How do I install Haritica, and what are the system requirements?
Haritica is a desktop app. Head to the download page and grab the build for macOS, Windows, or Linux, then open the installer like any other application — no command line, no conda, no environment setup. You'll want macOS 12 or later, Windows 10 or 11, or Ubuntu 20.04 or later, with a minimum of 8 GB of RAM. More RAM and CPU cores help with larger datasets, but you can also offload heavy jobs to opt-in cloud compute.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Haritica is a desktop app that processes your data locally, on your own machine. Cloud compute is strictly opt-in — it's used only when you explicitly choose to scale a job beyond your local resources, and only the inputs for that job are sent. There is no analytics or usage tracking baked into the app.
How does the 14-day free trial work?
You get full access to Haritica for 14 days, and no credit card is required to start. If you choose to continue, your subscription begins on day 15 — that's the first time you're charged. If Haritica isn't right for your work, simply don't continue and you won't be billed.
What does cloud compute cost?
Cloud compute is metered at 1.5× the AWS pass-through cost, and it's billed only after your $5 signup credit is used up. Usage is fully opt-in, so you're never charged for compute you didn't choose to run. As a reference point, a typical small differential-expression job costs about $0.10. See pricing for the full breakdown.
Which analyses and file formats are supported?
Haritica takes in FASTQ, BAM, and CSV count matrices. From there it runs differential expression, single-cell analysis, WGCNA co-expression, GO/KEGG enrichment, GSEA, variant annotation, Linkage Mapper (mutation mapping), and guided statistics that recommend and run the appropriate test for your question — all from one interface, without writing R.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel whenever you like, and your access continues until the end of the paid period you've already covered. After that, the subscription simply doesn't renew. See our refund policy for details.
Can I upload protected health information (PHI)?
No. Haritica is provided for independent, personal use only, is not a medical device, and is not a HIPAA-covered service. Please do not upload protected health information (PHI) or other regulated personal data to cloud compute. Keep that kind of data on appropriately controlled systems.
How do refunds work?
If Haritica isn't a fit, we'll refund your first month in full as long as you request it within 14 days of that charge. Metered cloud-compute usage that has already been consumed is non-refundable, since those costs are incurred on the spot. Full terms are in our refund policy.
